The purpose of Training Design is to construct, the training objectives required to sustain or implement the scope of work underway. Typicall this is leveraged from the outputs from both Business Analysis and Business Process Mapping.
Training Design in essence comprises three distinct processes:
- Competency analysis. Identification of competency requirements for all roles interacting with the scoped processes.
- Learning analysis. Identification of learning outcomes, including the knowledge, skills and attitudes, demonstrable by someone having attained the learning outcome.
- Learning outcome analysis. Identification of training objectives that collectively, achieve the desired learning outcome.
The benefits of Training Design include:
- Identification and articulation of training objectives.
- Classification of training objectives for development.
- Clear articulation of any variable conditions and assessment criteria.
- Direct association between training objectives and competencies required, to successfully and with repeatability, enable your business processes.
The desired end state is a series of clearly defined and classified objective statements for the development of training material.
