Terotek has a systematic approach to Business Process Mapping.
The purpose of Business Process Mapping is to provide a standard reference for communicating the conduct of business processes in the attainment of organisational objectives.
Business Process Mapping comprises of process mapping, benefits consideration, consideration of the business rules, and use of enabling mechanisms.
"The first step in gaining control over an organization is to know and understand the basic processes"
W. Edwards Deming 1982
Business Process Mapping realises the following Benefits:
- Existing gaps in a process become immediately obvious. Bridging gaps, can then be managed.
- Individual (and previously undocumented) knowledge, is captured as part of enabling a process. This can then be leveraged for the benefit of the organisation.
- Provides a basis for:
- Design of training, which can now proceed with confidence.
- Training processes in a repeatable manner.
- Conducing processes in a repeatable manner.
- Terotek process blueprints have a life cycle and are updateable.
- This component of the value chain is leveraged in training design, and during training development where process data is reused to develop training material.
The desired state at the conclusion of the blueprinting process is a document which the client has accepted as being an accurate and complete description of the process.
